Luigi's Mansion

GAMECUBEMASTR

When you here what the story behind Luigi's Mansion is you might start pulling out some hair (esp. you hardcore Mario fans).

Luigi...cough, cough... hack hack... has to save Ma MA MARIO.

THE STORY

Luigi has just inherited a haunted mansion (from who?)

(as you can see)

So he heads out across a river, through a forest, and up in elevation to get to his new mansion.  He then finds out it's haunted by weird spirits.  He meets up with a doctor dude in the mansion (if he inherited it why is someone else living in it. could be Mario).  The doctor gives him a vacuum and flashlight and Luigi sets out to rid his mansion of the ghosts and spirits.

THE GAMEPLAY

The point of Luigi's Mansion is to suck up all the ghosts in the house, turn them into pictures and get the key for the next level.  There are 90 levels in the game and if they all have that same objective with nothing new this ones going in the dumpster.

When a ghost pops out you can try to stun him with your flashlight and suck him up with your vacuum, the ghostbusters way.  The ghost can drag you all around the room knocking over tables and lanterns.  Like a fishing game their is a hit point meter to see how close you are to capturing the ghost.

Probably the best part about this game is its amazing A.I.  Ghosts will try to sneak up behind you and attack.  They also try to knock you into tables and such when you're trying to capture them so you'll fall and they'll escape.

OVERALL

This game could be a real sleeper hit if it does have the repetitive gameplay all the way through the game.  But who knows it could be an awesome game.  I suggest you check out IGN.com when they finish the import version of the game and give us a review.
